Gattaca

Gattaca: 1997

IMDB:7.5

Cast: Ethan Hawke (as Vincent), Jude Law (as Jerome), Uma Thurman (as Irene)

The movie was in a future time that people could choose between making their babies "genetically stamped" which means valid or "faith born" which means invalid. The main character, Vincent was a faith born child. Those "imperfect" people don't get to choose their jobs in that society. they can only do Low caste jobs like cleaning the place called "gattaca" where all the perfect ones work and stuff like that. people are not forced to give birth to genetic stamps but society discriminates them. ıf you are a faithborn child like Vincent, it's really hard for you to work in a place like Gattaca. In a scene, after Vincent acted like a valid person, they only asked for his urine and that was it. nothing else needed. only the DNA of a valid person could make his dream come true. It's about Vincent turning into someone else to achieve his goal which is going up to space. The society prevented him to do it but he did it anyway. The movie is basicly about following your dreams, the sense of perfection, rebelling.

Personal Thoughts: I really liked the movie because first of all, there's Ethan Hawke and Jude Law and second, The biological scenes of transition and making the babies perfect was interesting. The structure of society was so different and it was like a future time so the movie was a bit like sci-fi but not really. Also the action scenes were good too. I hope you all watch the movie, it's not a waste of time, I promise :)
