Edge of Seventeen

Edge of Seventeen: 2016

Cast: Hailee Steinfield (As Nadine), Woody Harrelson (As the teacher), Blake Jenner (as Darian),

IMDB: 7.5

Nadine goes through all those teenager stuff. She makes wrong decisions and ends up with no one by her side. It's a comedy about how she picks herself up. It's not only a comedy, it's also about seeing the opportunities and separating the right and wrong. Sometimes we can't completely see our options and this movie was educational in that sense.

Personal thoughts: It is good for spending your free time. It's a bit cliché but every movie shows the clichés from different perspectives. Since I'm still a teenager, the same age as Nadine, I can relate to her. For example, when she tries to contact the badass looking guy (I don't even remember his name. Nick?), she's actually just looking for someone to love and someone to love her back. Separating the truth from reality is a bit hard at that stage. When you expect someone to be in a certain way, it's almost unacceptable to find out that they're actually hormonal assholes. I think everyone does that in a way. We always have expectations. The movie was realistic so that's what I liked about it. Also Erwin was great I loved him. He's totally the best friend I would want. I don't get people's obsessions about bad boys, I personally love nerdy, funny, shy characters. Erwin's scenes were the best. I also loved his animations. I'm planning to study graphic design next year and hopefully do animations like that. As I was trying to find a movie to watch, I was in-between this one and Stanford Prison Experiment because I thought both were cool. I chose this one because it was kind of a comedy and I like Hailee Steinfield but now I feel obligated to watch the other one. I feel like I haven't been watching much this year because of the heavy burden of... life? Hopefully I'll have time to watch the other one too. I still don't know why I'm keeping this blog but I feel like my thoughts about movies are something to keep since I'll forget all of these some day.
